During the high-stakes final of the U-19 Tri-Series against Zimbabwe today, Minhas shattered the world record previously held by Indian batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi.

The Record-Breaking Feat Sameer Minhas reached the 100-run milestone in just 42 deliveries, a feat that stunned the spectators at the Harare Sports Club. His aggressive approach completely dismantled the Zimbabwean bowling attack. Minhas eventually concluded his “blitzkrieg” innings with 114 runs off just 51 balls, a knock punctuated by 17 boundaries and 5 towering sixes.

Prior to this innings, the world record for the fastest U-19 century belonged to India’s Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who had reached the triple-figure mark in 52 balls against England in July 2024. Minhas’s achievement has now lowered that record by a staggering 10 deliveries.

By scoring three centuries in only seven Youth One Day International (ODI) matches, Minhas has joined the ranks of Pakistan’s premier batsman Babar Azam—a feat considered a remarkable achievement in such a short span.

In the list of Pakistani players with the most centuries in Youth ODIs, Sami Aslam holds the top spot with six centuries in 40 matches. Babar Azam previously held the second position with three centuries in 36 matches, followed by Shahzaib Khan, who scored three centuries in 24 matches. Sameer Minhas has now matched this milestone in a mere seven matches, achieving the feat in less than a quarter of the games taken by his predecessors, showcasing his immense talent.

Beyond just scoring runs, Minhas has demonstrated great composure under pressure. During the 2025 Under-19 Asia Cup, he amassed 471 runs in five innings, maintaining an incredible average of over 150. He played a blistering knock of 142 runs off just 106 deliveries, an innings decorated with 17 boundaries and 4 sixes.
