The third and final Test of a three-match series between Pakistan and England is underway in Southampton
In order to avoid defeat in the series and to level it, Pakistan cricket team has to win this ongoing Test match at all costs
If that doesn’t happen, it will be the first time in ten years that Pakistan has lost a series to an English team.
The first Test match of the series was won by the English team by three wickets and they have a zero lead and if the English team manages to draw this third Test match, it will be their lead in the series.
However, by doing so, she will fail to get second position in the points table of the ICC Test Championship for which she needs to win this Test match.
A day before the third Test match, Azhar Ali, the captain of the ill-fated Pakistani team, described the team’s preparations in a way that has taken the world by surprise.
Azhar Ali said that in order to boost the morale of the team, all the players of the team have been shown the famous Turkish drama Ertugrul and now every player is watching this drama.
It may be recalled that the Ertugrul drama is being aired on PTV on the orders of Prime Minister Imran Khan and it is possible that the poor performer Azhar Ali did this to win the heart of the Prime Minister.
But let Azhar Ali understand that the bad form of the batsman will not be restored by sitting in the room and watching the drama Ertugrul, but for that he will have to go on the field and practice hard.
If you can become a good cricketer just by watching the drama Ertugrul, then all the cricketers should sit in front of the TV, watch all the episodes of Ertugrul and come out of the room as a famous cricketer.
The way the team lost the first Test match on the field due to Azhar Ali’s wrong decisions as captain, we think it is a very wrong decision to watch the drama Ertugrul to boost morale and courage.
It should have happened that all the batsmen should have been shown their videos at the end of the first Test match, their shortcomings would have been identified and then head coach Misbah-ul-Haq and Younis Khan would have worked together to rectify these shortcomings.
But Zahir Ali chose Drama Ertugrul to restore his form. It is not known whether his decision includes head coach Misbah-ul-Haq, bowling Waqar Younis, batting coach Younis and other coaching staff.
However, it is a fact that Azhar Ali should understand that cricket is not played on horseback but with glove pads and bats.
The second captaincy will be maintained not by appeasing Prime Minister Imran Khan but by performing well and making the best decisions.
