LAHORE (August 4, 2022): Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi congratulated young weightlifter Nooh Dastgir Butt for winning Pakistan’s first gold medal in the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022 at Birmingham.
In his greeting message on Thursday, Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi said definitely it was a joyous moment for Pakistan. Talented weightlifter Nooh Dastgir Butt lived up to the expectations and made the Pakistan nation proud by winning the gold medal with a record lift.
It is worth-mentioning that Nooh Butt won the gold medal by lifting a total weight of 405 kg (173 kg in snatch and 232 kg in clean and jerk). He also bagged bronze in the last games held in 2018.
Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi also congratulated Pakistan’s Shah Hussain Shah for winning a bronze medal in the judo event of Commonwealth Games.
