President of the country Dr. Arif Alvi has said that there is a need to promote healthy activities like golf in the country. No, he expressed these views while addressing the prize distribution ceremony of the annual invitational golf tournament held at Margalla Greens Golf Club. Under the ‘Sports Diplomacy’ initiative,

Serena Hotels hosted the tournament in association with Margalla Greens Golf Club. The event was attended by a large number of golfers, diplomats and sports fans.

The President said that no country can aspire to development and prosperity without the involvement of its people, Pakistan being the fifth most populous country in the world has immense potential to excel in every field of life. The Kingdom said that the people are the main driving force to contribute to the overall development of the country.

Around 250 million people of Pakistan can make a difference through their collective efforts. They can transform and build Pakistan by using their talent and intelligence.

President Alvi further highlighted the importance of promoting active lifestyle and outdoor activities while stressing the positive impact on national welfare and betterment of nations. Congratulating the organizers, he said that the event was enjoyable amidst the natural green environment. He said that due to the modern lifestyle,

people have become accustomed to modern facilities and are moving away from physical activities which are good for health. President of the State Dr. Arif Alvi further said that the human body responds to various exercises on a daily basis and if proper physical activity is not adopted, it declines with age.

The President said that due to the collective efforts of all institutions and the preparation of data, Pakistan emerged as the third most successful country in the world during Covid-19. He said that this example can be taken as a guide to help overcome various problems facing the country, adding that about 26 million children are out of school,

apart from health. The sector faces numerous problems of malnutrition and stunting. The President emphasized that they should also learn from the experiences of various developed countries that go through different challenges. He said that the situation in Pakistan will change, I firmly believe that people have great potential.

Speaking on the occasion, CEO Serena Hotels Aziz Bolani said that they will develop strong relationships and team work spirit. Sports will continue to be used as a platform to connect with people from different sections of society to nurture In the closing ceremony,

the President awarded prizes to the winners and runners-up in all four categories. About 110 golfers from various fields, including diplomatic, government and armed forces officials, businessmen and women participated,

including a significant contingent of women players, showcasing their skill and technique during the competition. The president himself also participated in the golf tournament.
