Pakistan Cycling Federation Hosts Thrilling Cycling Events at Pakistan Sports Board’s Sports Gala

Islamabad, Pakistan – March 11, 2024 – The Pakistan Cycling Federation (PCF) successfully organized exhilarating cycling events as part of the Pakistan Sports Board’s (PSB) Sports Gala on 9th and 10th March. The two-day extravaganza showcased the cyclists of all ages competing in various disciplines, highlighting Pakistan’s commitment to promoting sports excellence.

On 9th March, the action kicked off with the MTB Downhill Race and MTB XCE Race, featuring participants from different age categories: 40 and above, under 40, and under 18. The event also included a special Kids’ event called “Balance Off Road,” organized by the Islamabad Cycling Association,

AeroCycling, and FastB, with the support of the Capital Development Authority (CDA). The “Balance Off Road” event witnessed enthusiastic participation from youngsters aged under 4, under 6, under 8, and under 10, utilizing both MTB and balance bikes to showcase their skills. Mr. Haroon General, Ms. Maham Tariq, and Ms. Aisha Qazi were instrumental in organizing the MTB Races and Balance Off Road event.

The honorable Chief Guest, Mr. Irfan Niazi, Deputy Director General Environment from the CDA, graced the occasion and distributed certificates and prizes to the deserving winners, encouraging the participants to continue their pursuit of excellence in cycling.

Continuing the excitement on 10th March, the Road Race for Men was jointly organized by the Islamabad Cycling Association and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Cycling Association. Led by Mr. Haroon General, Mr. Nisar Ahmed, and Mr. Sarmad Shabab, the event attracted top cyclists competing for supremacy on the roads of Islamabad.

Mr. Saeed Akhtar, Deputy Director Sports from the Pakistan Sports Board, honored the event as the Chief Guest, applauding the cyclists’ dedication and perseverance. Mr. Akhtar distributed cash prizes and medals to the winners, acknowledging their remarkable performances and contribution to the cycling fraternity.

“We are proud to support events like these that promote cycling and healthy activities among our youth,” said Mr. Shoaib Khoso, Director General of the Pakistan Sports Board. “Cycling not only fosters physical fitness but also instills values of discipline and determination.
