MIES (Switzerland) – France 3×3 star Laetitia Guapo was elected MVP of the third edition of the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series by a panel of players and fans on October 26, 2022.
The number four 3×3 player in the World led France to a second-place finish at the Women’s Series Final in Constanta, Romania on September 17-18.
Guapo finished 3rd overall in scoring (136 points in 20 games) and ranked 6th in Player Value (119.7).
This MVP trophy caps off an amazing season for the 27-year-old, who completed a historic World Cup – Europe Cup 3×3 double and became the second female player to ever win the Alain-Gilles trophy for best French basketball player of the year.
Guapo won the fan vote (36%) and finished 4th overall in the player panel. She edged out Women’s Series winner and Final MVP Michelle Plouffe from Canada (1st in the player vote, 6th in the fan vote) and Kamile Nacickaite of Lithuania (2nd for the players, 4th for the fans).
She succeeds Migna Touré (France), who won in 2019, and Sandra Ygueravide (Spain), who was crowned in 2021.
For each panel, players received 6 points for 1st place, 4 for 2nd place, 3 for 3rd place, 2 for 4th place and 1 for 5th place. The player vote was the tie-breaker.
