Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Olympic Association awaits funds release for National Games

Peshawar, May 2 , 2023 – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Olympic Association has not received any funds from the provincial government for the National Games, causing concerns among athletes and associations participating in various sports camps across the province. Officials of the association fear that they will not be able to pay the players in the sports training camp or provide them with necessary equipment such as track suits and shoes.

The absence of funds has also affected athletes’ practice, resulting in mental stress. The squad consisting of 450 athletes is set to participate in the National Games, and the delay in funds release has caused uncertainty about their preparations. KP Olympic Association President Syed Aqil Shah confirmed in an interview yesterday that the funds have not been released yet.
