Ramadan Night Teqball Championship 2024 Concludes in Peshawar on Sports World Day

Peshawar witnessed the exciting culmination of the Ramadan Night Teqball Championship 2024, organized by the Directorate General of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Teqball Association, coinciding with Sports World Day.
In the final showdown, international player Hidayat Ur Rehman emerged victorious, securing the winner’s trophy after defeating Muneem Khan. Deputy Director of the Sports Department, Jaffar Shah, graced the closing ceremony, where he presented medals, trophies, and cash prizes to the talented players.
Distinguished personalities such as Mian Absar Ali, founder president of the Pakistan Teqball Federation, Mian Wajahat Ali, Secretary of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Teqball Association,
Hayat Nazir, Vice President of the FATA (Merged Tribal Districts) Association, Secretary Akhtar Rasool, President of the Absar Welfare Foundation, along with senior sports journalist Ghani Ur Rehmaniur Rahman, were also in attendance, alongside a multitude of players.
Athletes from various corners of the province participated in the Ramadan night tag ball competitions held at the Arena Hall of Peshawar Sports Complex on the auspicious occasion of International Sports Day.
Hidayatur Rehman from Chitral secured his spot in the final by defeating Mohib from District Khyber with a score of 2-1 in the first semi-final, while Munim from Peshawar emerged victorious against Hasnain from Mardan with a close score of 2-1 in the second semi-final.
Ultimately, in the championship match, Hidayat ur Rehman clinched the champion trophy with a 2-1 victory over his opponent, Maneem.
Addressing the audience during the closing ceremony, Deputy Director of Sports, Jaffar Shah, emphasized the importance of sports for human health, reaffirming the provincial government’s commitment to sports development. Akhtar Rasool, General Secretary of the FATA (Merged Tribal Districts) Teqball Association,
lauded the event’s success, highlighting the participation of players from diverse regions, including the merged districts. Rahat Mian echoed sentiments on observing World Sports Day for Development and Peace in Pakistan and Peshawar, emphasizing ongoing efforts to leverage sports for community building.
