Ahmed Baig impresses with seven-under-par performance at Morocco Golf Championship

Lahore: Pakistan’s leading golfer Ahmed Baig produced an impressive performance at the Asian Circuit International Championship in Morocco, finishing with an aggregate score of seven-under-par 279 after four days of highly competitive golf against a strong international field.

Competing against some of the region’s top golfers, Baig demonstrated consistency, skill and resilience throughout the championship.

His performance earned him a respectable 22nd-place finish, highlighting his ability to compete at the highest levels of international golf.

Baig opened the tournament with a solid two-under-par 70 in the first round, followed by an even-par 71 in the second. He then delivered one of the standout rounds of the event for Pakistan, carding an impressive five-under-par 67 in the third round. He closed the championship with a steady one-under-par 71 to secure his seven-under-par total.

While a score of seven-under-par would be considered an exceptional achievement by national standards, the strength of the international field meant that Baig ultimately finished 22nd overall. Nevertheless, his performance remains highly commendable and reflects the growing standard of Pakistani golf on the global stage.

Baig’s showing in Morocco further reinforces his status as one of Pakistan’s premier golfers and underscores his potential to achieve even greater success internationally.

Golf observers believe that increased sponsorship and institutional support could help him compete more regularly in elite events and further elevate Pakistan’s presence in international golf.
