PESHAWAR: The elections of the Pakistan Archery Federation have been deemed unconstitutional and illegal by the Secretary General and founder of archery in Pakistan, Wasal Muhammad Khan. According to Khan, the ongoing case in the local court of Peshawar is awaiting a ruling on the formation of an arbitration committee to oversee the elections. The next court appearance is scheduled for June 28, making any premature elections conducted without this committee invalid.

Khan has informed relevant bodies, including the Pakistan Olympic Association and the Pakistan Sports Board, about the situation. He accused certain individuals of misleading these organizations by falsely claiming that the elections have already been held. Khan believes these actions are part of an agenda aimed at weakening archery in Pakistan for personal gain, causing significant harm to the Federation through various conspiracies.

Addressing the media in Peshawar, Khan highlighted his efforts over the years to popularize archery in Pakistan. He noted the organization of numerous provincial and national competitions, the invitation of foreign coaches to train local athletes and coaches, and the participation of Pakistani archers in international competitions where they have performed commendably.

Determined to protect the integrity of archery in Pakistan, Khan took legal action to prevent further damage to the sport. He has requested the court to establish an arbitration committee to ensure clean and transparent elections for the Pakistan Archery Federation. Khan argued that holding elections without the supervision of this committee is an attempt to avoid fair and just oversight. He remains hopeful that justice will prevail and has called on organizations dedicated to the development of sports in Pakistan to support his cause.
