Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) shared the details of funds released to various federations and athletes during the last 5 years.
PSB has shared the details of funds from the financial year 2019/20 to the financial year 2023/24 on the website under which the bulk of the funds released by the board have been given in the last 2 years.
Funds of more than 1 billion have been given by the board during the last 5 years from various federations.
According to the PSB documents, in the financial year 2023/24, more than 50 crores to various federations and players, more than 42 crores during 2022/23, 40 crores in 2020/21, 6 crores 95 lakhs to federations in 2021/22 and In 2019/20 only 2.5 crores were released.
The documents show that the Pakistan Sports Board paid Rs 10.36 crore to the Hockey Federation over five years, over Rs 5.90 crore to the PHF and Rs 10 crore to the Athletics Federation in the last financial year.
Similarly, in the year 2023/24, a grant of 10 crores was issued to the Volleyball Federation, while in the last 5 years, the Volleyball Federation received more than 11.5 crores of funds.
7 crores to the Athletes Federation of Pakistan in the financial year 2023/24, 7 crores to the Netball Federation in 5 years and 6.5 crores to the Netball Federation in the last 2 years, 6 crores to the Taekwondo Federation in 5 years and 4 crores to the Tennis Federation 86 Funding of Rs.
On the other hand, Squash Federation has been paid Rs 5 crore in the last 5 years, Rifle Association Rs 26.5 crore, Boxing Federation Rs 3 lakh, Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association Rs 2 crore 47 lakh in the last 5 years and Cycling Federation Rs. received funds of around 4 crores.
