D I Khan’s Dominance in Inter-Division Global Taekwondo Championship, Peshawar Runner-up

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inter-Division Global Taekwondo Championship, held at Hayatabad Sports Complex, Peshawar, concluded successfully with D I Khan claiming the championship title through an impressive performance. D I Khan’s team secured 18 gold, 10 silver, and 3 bronze medals, while Peshawar finished second with 2 gold and 18 silver medals.

The championship saw active participation from both male and female teams from various divisions, including Peshawar, Mardan, Hazara, Kohat, Malakand, Bannu, and D I Khan. The thrilling matches kept the spectators on the edge of their seats, making the event a memorable one.

The closing ceremony was graced by prominent figures such as Pakistan Archery Federation’s Secretary General Visal Muhammad Khan, Provincial Ju-Jitsu Association’s President Tehseen Ullah, Assistant Administrator of Hayatabad Sports Complex Ibrahim Khan, and renowned martial artist Haleem Real Commando. They awarded medals and trophies to the winners. Pakistan Global Taekwondo Federation’s Secretary Masood Afridi played a pivotal role in hosting the event.

In the 42kg weight category, Tanveer from Peshawar bagged the gold medal, while Taimoor secured silver, and Hazara’s Sameen claimed the bronze. In the 48kg category, Israr from D I Khan won gold, Peshawar’s Ali secured silver, and Shehzad took bronze.

The 53kg category saw Kamran from D I Khan taking the gold, Peshawar’s Samad winning silver, and D I Khan’s Muzammil earning bronze. In the 60kg category, Saddam from Peshawar claimed the gold, Abdullah from D I Khan took silver, and Aatif secured the bronze medal. Shahabuddin from D I Khan dominated the 72kg category, winning gold, while Peshawar’s Usman took silver, and Ali Rehman secured bronze.

After D I Khan’s exceptional performance, they were awarded the Champion Trophy, while Peshawar received the Runner-up Trophy.

During the ceremony, the guests praised the athletes’ performances and highlighted the efforts of the Pakistan Global Taekwondo Federation in promoting martial arts in Pakistan. Visal Muhammad Khan from the Pakistan Archery Federation emphasized how such competitions not only enhance physical abilities but also boost confidence and discipline in the youth.

Tehseen Ullah, President of the Ju-Jitsu Association, underscored the importance of martial arts, stating that it strengthens both body and mind. He congratulated the Pakistan Global Taekwondo Federation and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Global Taekwondo Association for successfully organizing the event, adding that such competitions will elevate Pakistan’s status on the global stage.

Haleem Real Commando, a popular martial artist, mentioned that taekwondo competitions serve as a constructive outlet for youth, urging for more events to encourage the sport’s growth in Pakistan.

The event concluded with the distribution of medals, certificates, and commemorative shields to the officials and athletes for their outstanding performances and contribution to the success of the championship.
