England PD beat Pakistan PD by 62 runs in PD Champions Trophy.

Colombo: Pakistan PD was defeated by England PD by 62 runs in the PD Champions Trophy held in Sri Lanka’s capital Colombo.

England PD captain Callum Flynn won the toss and elected to bat first at the BOI Cricket Ground.

The entire team of England PD was all out by scoring 144 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Hugo Hammond scored 43 off 29 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes, Liam Obrien scored 25 off 28 balls with 2 fours and 1 six,

while captain Callum Flynn scored 21 runs off just 15 balls with 4 fours.

Waqif Shah took 2 wickets for 19 runs, while Abdul Basit and captain Abdullah Ijaz also took 2, 2 wickets for 25 runs. Chasing 145 runs, Pakistan’s PD batsmen kept losing wickets from the start.

Ghulam Muhammad and Waqif Shah scored 17 and 17 runs respectively. Jordan Williams bowled well for England PD, taking 3 wickets for just 10 runs, while Anthony Clapham took 2 wickets for 24 runs.

England’s Jordan Williams was given the man of the match award.
