Sohaib Maqsood joins Multan Sultans coaching staff
By Nawaz Gohar ; Sohaib Maqsood has revealed that his entry into coaching was solely due to Ali Khan Tareen (Gohar Shah).
According to him, he had never even considered a coaching career, but when the ownership of Multan Sultans reached out, he was personally invited via a phone call to join the franchise in this new capacity.
Sohaib expressed deep gratitude toward the owner, noting that the idea of coaching hadn’t crossed his mind, not even when he was named Player of the Tournament during Multan Sultans’ title-winning season.
He added that the respect, trust, and affection shown to him were truly special. The ownership’s appreciation of his past contributions as a player touched him deeply. While he was initially hesitant due to a lack of prior coaching experience, the owner’s encouragement eventually convinced him.
Sohaib concluded by stating that the level of respect he has received from the management is unparalleled.
