PESHAWAR, Brisk arrangements continue for the smooth conduct of the Floodlight Ramzan Sports Festival under the aegis of Directorate General Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at different venues will be commencing from June 1, Organizing Secretary Syed Jaffar Shah told APP here on Wednesday.
Syed Jaffar Shah, who is also international athletic coach, said that as desired by Director General Sports Junaid Khan, the Ramzan Sports Festival comprising events like hockey, football, athletic, table tennis, throw ball and badminton.
He said Badminton will be organized at Hayatabad Sports Complex while football event will be played at newly rehabilitated Sumbal Khan Football Ground, Qayyum Sports Complex wherein a total of 12 teams are taking part.
He said to keep the youngster in form sports activities would be organized with players from all across Peshawar, Nowshera, Charsadda would be organized.
The hockey event will played at Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium wherein eight teams will be taking part. The event will be played on single league basis while Football will be played at Sumbal Khan Football Stadium, Qayyum Sports Complex and cricket event will be organized in Hayatabad Sports Complex.
About the arrangements he said grounds are presently in good shape and floodlights in these venues would be installed so that to give appropriate opportunities to the youngsters to come and show their skills.
He said attractive prizes would also be given to the position holders besides trophies for the winners and runners-up position holders. All the events would be organized soon after “Taravih” players. The activities would also provide entertainment to the youngsters during the Holy month of Ramazan.
He disclosed that each of the event comprising more than 60 players each in Badminton, Table Tennis, Swimming and Athletics will be taking part. The athletic event will be played at Hayatabad Sports Complex wherein only Under-16. The swimming event will be organized at Adil Khan Swimming Pool.
