Lahore : In a commanding performance at the ongoing 6th Jinnah Gold Polo Cup 2026 (10–14 Goal), organised by Jinnah Polo Fields, FG Polo qualified for the main final after defeating Master Paints/Diamond Paints (MP/DP) by a convincing 11-4 margin. With this victory, FG Polo advanced to the title clash alongside BN Polo.
The high-goal tournament, one of the marquee events of Lahore’s polo season, continues to draw large crowds, including families, polo enthusiasts, and prominent players. Secretary of Jinnah Polo Fields, Major (R) Adil Sultan Rao, was also present on the occasion.
FG Polo’s star performer was Rauli Laplacette, who delivered a sensational nine-goal haul. He was well supported by Marcos Rivarola and Amin Rehman, who added one goal each. For Master Paints/Diamond Paints, Amirreza Behbudi struck twice, while Facundo and Sufi Haroon contributed one goal apiece.
In the first chukka, FG take early control with 2-0. FG Polo began aggressively, setting the tone of the match from the outset. Amin Rehman opened the scoring with a field goal, while Rauli Laplacette followed up with a brilliant 30-yard conversion. FG Polo ended the first chukka with a solid 2-0 lead, dominating possession and pace.
The second chukka saw both teams finding the posts, but FG remained in firm control. Amirreza Behbudi scored two field goals (40-yard and 30-yard efforts) to open MP/DP’s account. However,
Rauli Laplacette responded emphatically, netting four goals in the chukka, including two penalty conversions and two field goals. By halftime, FG Polo had surged ahead 6-2, with Laplacette in devastating form.
The third chukka turned into a one-sided affair as FG Polo tightened their grip. Rauli Laplacette (FG) produced a remarkable scoring spree, adding four more goals, including penalty conversions and a 30-yard strike. FG shut out MP/DP in this period, stretching their lead to a commanding 10-2.
In the final chukka, both sides traded goals. Marcos Rivarola scored a penalty goal for FG while for Master Paints/Diamond Paints, Facundo Retamar and Sufi Haroon netted one goal each. Despite the late efforts from MP/DP, FG Polo comfortably sealed the contest at 11-4, confirming their place in the main final.
