Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is backbone of Pakistan cricket: PCB Chief Naqvi

By Nawaz Gohar ; Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, while addressing the media, said that the board has no personal agenda and its only objective was to ensure Bangladesh was accorded the respect it deserved.

The Chairman highlighted that 60% of the players in the national cricket team hail from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), which serves as clear evidence of the immense cricketing talent present within the province.

In his statement, Mohsin Naqvi remarked that there is a vast amount of potential for cricket in KP. He emphasized that if this talent is provided with further opportunities and a proper platform, it will prove to be highly beneficial for the future of Pakistan cricket.

The PCB Chairman stressed that the more this talent is promoted, the stronger Pakistan cricket will become. He urged all stakeholders to collaborate in spreading positive news regarding the promotion of sports to encourage young athletes.

Regarding the matter of Bangladesh, Mohsin Naqvi clarified that the goal was to ensure Bangladesh received due respect, and the stance they adopted was ultimately accepted. He further explained that there was no personal motive involved; rather, the intent was purely to rectify the unfair treatment previously faced by Bangladesh.

Mohsin Naqvi concluded by saying that there were no discussions regarding a tri-nation cricket series, nor was any such agenda under consideration.
