Model Town Zone delegation backs Khawaja Nadeem in push for cricket development

By Nawaz Gohar ; Efforts to further strengthen cricket development and organisational structure in the Lahore region gathered momentum as a representative delegation from the Model Town Zone held an important meeting with Khawaja Nadeem Ahmed, President of the Lahore Region Cricket Association (LRCA).

The meeting, held in a cordial and constructive atmosphere, featured detailed discussions on matters of mutual interest, with a particular focus on the overall state of cricket in Lahore. Special attention was given to the promotion of cricket in the Model Town Zone, the challenges being faced, and opportunities for further improvement.

During the session, both sides emphasized that sustainable growth in cricket requires close collaboration and a well-coordinated strategy. There was a consensus that collective efforts and unity among stakeholders are essential to strengthening the game at the grassroots level.

The delegation welcomed the establishment of new zones within the Lahore region, terming it a progressive and forward-looking initiative aimed at expanding the reach of cricket. Members of the delegation also expressed full confidence in the leadership of Khawaja Nadeem Ahmed, praising his contributions over the past three years in elevating Lahore’s cricket structure.

Participants paid tribute to his merit-based policies, noting that such measures have played a vital role in improving transparency and reinforcing the foundations of the sport in the region.

In his remarks, Khawaja Nadeem Ahmed thanked the delegation for their support and reaffirmed his commitment to serving cricket with dedication. He appreciated the constructive role played by organisers, stating that sincere and hardworking stakeholders are the true backbone of the sport and instrumental in building a strong cricketing framework.

The delegation included prominent club officials such as Dr Abdul Sattar (President, Speed Cricket Club), Akbar Ali (President, Young Model Town Cricket Club), Hasan Baloch (President, Valencia Gymkhana Cricket Club), and representatives from Lahore Cricket Club, among others. All participants reiterated their commitment to working collectively for the betterment and sustained growth of cricket in the region.
