Pakistan ODI Squad Begins Training, Babar Azam in Action in Nets
Rawalpindi, The 16-member Pakistan squad led by Shaheen Shah Afridi commenced its preparations for the upcoming One-Day International tri-nation series on Thursday, 15 October at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
Pakistan are set to face Sri Lanka on 18 and England on 20 October in Rawalpindi, while in Lahore, they will be up against England on 25 and Sri Lanka on 27 October.
The squad hit the ground running with an intensive three-hour training session from 4pm to 7pm PKT under the supervision of the coaches including head coach Mike Hesson, batting coach Mike Smith, bowling coach Shaun Tait and fielding coach Mansoor Amjad.
With a busy 50-over cricket season looming on the horizon the training session included skill work and practice for all 16 members as each member got a chance to bat as well.
While the pacers Shaheen, Haris Rauf, Razaullah, Faheem Ashraf and Naseem Shah hit their straps under the watchful eye of former Australia pace ace Tait, the spin bowling attack including Shadab Khan, Abrar Ahmed, Arafat Minhas and Sufyan Moqim all had their work cut out as they bowled long spells in the nets.
Pakistan will train at the same venue again on Friday and Saturday from 4pm to 7pm.
