Din/FG, DP/Imperial shine on opening day of JPF Times Polo Cup
LAHORE: Din/FG and Diamond Paints/Imperial made winning starts to the JPF Times Polo Cup 2026 (2-6 goals), securing convincing victories on the opening day of the tournament at Jinnah Polo Fields on Tuesday.
In the first match of the opening day, Din/FG outclassed AOS 8-3, with Raja Temur Nadeem producing an outstanding five-goal performance. Syed Ayan Salman, Sheikh Muhammad Farhad and Ahmad Bilal Riaz contributed one goal apiece. For AOS, Agha Musa Ali Khan scored twice, while Abdullah Ijaz added one goal.
The second encounter of the day saw Diamond Paints/Imperial overpower Lotto Carpets Singapore 8-3.5, with Raja Jalal Arslan leading the charge with five fabulous goals. Ibrahim Sheikh scored twice and Bilal Haye added one to complete the winning team's tally.
Lotto Carpets Singapore received a half-goal handicap advantage, while Aarib Ali Malik, Imran Abid Mir and Taimur Ali Malik scored one goal each.
The opening day's matches attracted a sizeable gathering of polo enthusiasts, players and their families. Jinnah Polo Fields Secretary Major (R) Adil Sultan Rao was also present on the occasion.
