Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad set for Pinktober Run on Saturday

Karachi : Thousands of runners and cycling enthusiasts are expected to come together in three cities on Saturday, October 31, for the Himmel Pinktober Run, an initiative organized by Sports In Pakistan to raise awareness about breast cancer and support fundraising efforts for the cause.

The event will feature multiple categories, including a 5km Run, 10km Run and 20km Cycling, alongside a special 30km Run for participants of the Karachi Distance Series.

Taking place simultaneously in three cities, Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, the Himmel Pinktober Run aims to bring communities together through sport, encouraging people from different backgrounds and fitness levels to participate in a shared mission of awareness, solidarity and support.

Pinktober, observed during October, serves as an important reminder of the need to raise awareness about breast cancer, promote early detection and encourage people to seek timely medical advice. Through this initiative, Sports In Pakistan aims to use the growing running and fitness culture as a platform to amplify the message and contribute towards fundraising for the cause.

Speaking ahead of the event, Shoaib Nizami, CEO of Sports In Pakistan, said:
“Running has the power to bring people together beyond finish lines and personal achievements. The Himmel Pinktober Run is about turning that collective energy into something meaningful. Every participant joining us is helping spread an important message about breast cancer awareness and supporting a cause that affects countless families.”

He added: “Pinktober reminds us that awareness, early detection and timely medical consultation matter. We want this initiative to encourage conversations, inspire people to stand with those affected by breast cancer and demonstrate how sports communities can play a positive role in society. Whether someone runs 5km, 10km, takes part in cycling or joins the Karachi Distance Series 30km challenge, every effort counts.”

With thousands expected to participate across the three cities, the Himmel Pinktober Run will bring together runners, cyclists, fitness communities and supporters in a collective effort to make every kilometre count for a cause.

Sports In Pakistan believes that sporting events can serve a purpose beyond competition, creating opportunities to promote healthier lifestyles, build stronger communities and support meaningful social initiatives.
