By Nawaz Gohar ;  The semi-final bracket for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 is officially complete following the conclusion of a thrilling Super Eight stage. New Zealand, South Africa, India, and England have emerged as the final four contenders vying for the prestigious title.

India secured their knockout berth yesterday in a high-pressure encounter against the West Indies. The victory was anchored by an exceptional unbeaten 97-run knock from Sanju Samson, keeping India’s hopes of a record third T20 World Cup title alive. As defending champions playing on home soil, India looks poised to retain the trophy, though the upcoming knockout fixtures promise intense competition.

Semi-Final Schedule and Venues
The knockout stage will feature two blockbuster matchups:

Semi-Final 1: New Zealand vs. South Africa

Venue: Eden Gardens, Kolkata

Semi-Final 2: India vs. England
Date/Time: Thursday, March 5 | 6:30 PM IST

New Zealand: The Black Caps displayed consistency throughout the Group Stage with victories over Afghanistan, UAE, and Canada. Despite a rain-affected washout against Pakistan and a loss to England in the Super Eights, their clinical 61-run victory over Sri Lanka ensured their progression.

South Africa: The Proteas have been the form team of the tournament. After a dominant Group Stage—including a dramatic double-super-over win against Afghanistan—they swept the Super Eights with convincing victories over India, West Indies, and Zimbabwe.

India: The hosts enjoyed an unbeaten Group Stage run, defeating the USA, Namibia, Pakistan, and the Netherlands. While they stumbled against South Africa in the Super Eights, they bounced back with authoritative wins over Zimbabwe and the West Indies to clinical effect.

England: The 2022 champions navigated a turbulent path. After a mixed Group Stage that included a loss to the West Indies, England found their rhythm in the Super Eights, recording crucial wins over Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and New Zealand to secure their spot in the final four.

The stage is now set for a historic conclusion to the 2026 mega-event, as these four nations compete for a place in the Grand Final.
