Sri Lankan police have ended their investigation into the 2011 World Cup final, but found no evidence of match-fixing.

Sri Lankan police say two players and a chief selector were questioned in connection with the investigation, and are satisfied with the explanations of all three.

The investigation unit questioned former captain Kumar Sangakkara for nine hours, while Arvinda de Silva and opening batsman Opel Tharanga also recorded their statements.

Former captain Mahela Jayawardene was also summoned today to record a statement.

It should be noted that in the final of the World Cup 2011, the Sri Lankan team lost to India.

An investigation was launched last month following a statement from the former Sri Lankan sports minister.
