The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 was postponed due to the corona virus, but now it is likely to be held in the UAE between September and November.
According to popular cricket website Cricinfo, “the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has indicated that the IPL will be held from September 26 to November 7 and the entire tournament is likely to be played in the United Arab Emirates.”
According to the report, the BCCI will make the final decision after the ICC announces the postponement of the T20 World Cup, which is scheduled in Australia from October 18 to November 15.
According to Cricinfo, the BCCI has formally written to the Indian government seeking permission to move the IPL to the United Arab Emirates.
The BCCI has sought permission for the transfer of the tournament as well as the travel of players and other team officials.
The BCCI discussed the transfer of the IPL to the United Arab Emirates in a meeting held yesterday. However, the board is still preferring to play in India, but cases of corona virus are increasing rapidly in the country.
Given the situation created by the corona virus in India, the UAE will be the next field of IPI.
