Cycling Coach Raises Concerns About Pakistani Cyclists and Officials at World Championships
Qaiser Bhatti, a prominent cycling coach hailing from Punjab, has penned a letter to the IPC secretary, shedding light on a pressing issue involving two cyclists and ten officials participating in the ongoing World Cycling competitions.
The letter highlights a rather concerning scenario wherein members of the Pakistan Cycling Federation have embarked on trips accompanied by their families to the World Cycling Championships, currently taking place in Scotland.
As per Bhatti’s communication, two Pakistani cyclists are participating in these prestigious competitions, yet their standings remain notably low. Accompanying the letter are the attached results, providing further insight.
The letter also brings forth the fact that the cycling federation has refrained from conducting open trials and has deprived department cyclists of deserving opportunities.
Moreover, the allegations do not stop there. Qaiser Bhatti has accused the Pakistan Cycling Federation of importing bicycles from abroad and subsequently selling them within the country without paying the required taxes abroad.
Copies of this impactful letter have been disseminated not only to the Pakistan Olympic Association but also to the Pakistan Sports Board, drawing attention to this critical matter that could potentially tarnish the reputation of Pakistan in the realm of international cycling.
