BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla Talks at Gaddafi Stadium
Lahore: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Vice President Rajeev Shukla attended a match at Gaddafi Stadium, enjoying both the thrilling contest and traditional tea.
Speaking to the media, Shukla reaffirmed that the Indian cricket team could not visit Pakistan due to a lack of government clearance. “The hybrid model is effective; that’s why matches between both sides are happening,” he stated, emphasizing the importance of the arrangement.
He made it clear that cricketing ties between India and Pakistan remain dependent on official government approvals. “Unless BCCI gets permission, bilateral cricket cannot take place,” he added, stressing that both nations must work together at the governmental level to resume regular series.
Shukla also expressed his pleasure in watching the match at Gaddafi Stadium, adding, “I hope the team that plays well today emerges victorious.”
The BCCI official watched the Champions Trophy semi-final alongside PCB Chairman and other senior officials, underlining the significance of ongoing cricketing engagements within the hybrid model framework.
