Triple Crown: India become first team to win three T20 World Cup titles

During the final clash in Ahmedabad, Sanju Samson etched India’s name into the record books in the 14th over by smashing three sixes off Rachin Ravindra. With this feat, India became the first team in history to cross the milestone of 100 sixes in a single edition of the World Cup, bringing their tournament total to 102.
Samson captivated the crowd with a brilliant 89 runs off just 46 deliveries before eventually falling to a full-toss delivery. With this victory over New Zealand, India has achieved several unprecedented milestones:
Most Titles: India is now the only team in the world to have won the T20 World Cup three times (2007, 2024, and 2026).
Consecutive Wins: They are the first team in cricket history to win two consecutive T20 World Cup editions, successfully defending their crown.
Home Ground Advantage: India has broken the “host curse” to become the first nation to win the T20 World Cup trophy at home—a feat no previous host nation had managed to achieve.
The Indian squad displayed absolute dominance in both the batting and bowling departments, turning the high-stakes final into a one-sided affair. India previously clinched the title in the inaugural 2007 edition and more recently in 2024.
