Regional Inter-District U19 One-Day tournament to begin from Monday
Lahore : The Regional Inter-District U19 One-Day tournament is set to begin from Monday, 15 June with 103 districts and zones across the country taking part in it, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced today.
The tournament is set to see more than 1600 U19 men’s players active across June and July in 50-over red-ball matches. The teams have been divided according to their regional composition across the 16 regions. Winner and runners up in each region are set to bag PKR 200,000 and PKR 100,000, respectively.
From Monday, the tournament will begin in Multan and Larkana, on Tuesday in Karachi and Dera Murad Jamali, while on Thursday in Abbottabad, Bahawalpur and Hyderabad. The schedule for the remaining regions will be confirmed in due course upon completion of the fitness tests there.
The top performers in the tournament will have the bright opportunity to kick-start their professional cricket careers as 18 regional U19 teams will be formed from district and zonal teams in late July and early August for upcoming season.
The players across 103 districts and zones will also have in their sights the Pakistan men’s U19 tour to England scheduled from 2 September to 16 September later this year and it includes a solitary Youth Test and four Youth ODIs.
