Pakistan, Kazakhstan launch International Qazaq Kuresi Coaching & Athlete Development Program
By Nawaz Gohar ; The International Qazaq Kuresi Coaching and Athlete Development Program officially kicked off in Islamabad with the collaboration of Kazakhstan.
The inauguration ceremony of the development program, held at the Pakistan Sports Complex, was led by the Kazakh Ambassador to Pakistan, Yerzhan Kistafin. Prominent figures in attendance included Colonel Nabeel Ahmed Rana, Deputy Director of the Army Fitness and Sports Directorate, and Major Naveed Afzal, Secretary General of the Pakistan Qazaq Kuresi Federation.
Athletes from across the country are participating in the seven-day training program, where expert coaches from Kazakhstan will train them in modern technical skills and techniques.
Addressing the ceremony, Ambassador Yerzhan Kistafin highlighted Kazakhstan’s commitment to further expanding sports cooperation with Pakistan. He noted that the establishment of the Dostyk Sports Center aims to foster sports diplomacy between both nations.
The ambassador also expressed his desire to see Pakistani athletes actively participate in the Olympic Games in the future and bring honor to the nation on the global stage.
Meanwhile, Major Naveed Afzal, Secretary General of the Pakistan Qazaq Kuresi Federation, reaffirmed the federation’s commitment to promoting Qazaq Kuresi across the country. He emphasized that emerging athletes will be provided with state-of-the-art facilities, world-class training, and international opportunities.
