Karachi (Sports Reporter) – The inaugural Ali Asghar Valika All-Pakistan Snooker Championship, organized by World Home Snooker, has concluded.
Punjab’s Rana Irfan clinched the title, defeating Mubashir Raza by four frames to three in the final. Rana Irfan recorded two century breaks during the match; he secured the title by posting a break of 139 in the second frame and a winning break of 126 in the seventh frame.
Although Mubashir Raza put up a spirited fight, he fell just short of victory. Rana Irfan’s break of 139 proved to be the highest of the event, and he also received cash prizes from several snooker enthusiasts.
Chief Guest and PIA Chairman Arif Habib distributed the prizes at the closing ceremony. He also announced a cash prize of 300,000 rupees for the winning player. Speaking to the media,
Arif Habib expressed his pleasure that Naya Nazimabad had hosted such a magnificent event, adding that efforts to promote sports would continue in the future. He remarked that Ali Asghar Valika’s contributions to the promotion of snooker are unforgettable.
Also present on the occasion were Ali Asghar Valika’s younger brother Abbas Valika, former world champion Mohammad Yousuf, World Home Snooker founder Waqar Alam, Tournament Director Mohammad Waqas, Naveen Perwani, Naya Nazimabad Gymkhana President Syed Mohammad Talha, Manager Mohammad Asif, and a large number of spectators.
