In what marks a watershed moment for non-cricket sports in the country, former Asian Champions Abu Huraira and Muhammad Ammar spearheaded the national surge. Competing in Pakistan’s debut appearance in the elite Masters category, the seasoned pair orchestrated a clinical performance to capture gold in both the Masters Duo and Duo Show disciplines.
Their synchronized execution and technical mastery left both judges and global competitors in awe, transforming an unprecedented world debut into an unprecedented double-gold victory.
Adding further brilliance to the nation’s haul, rising prodigies Muhammad Yousaf and Muhammad Umar signaled the dawn of a new generation. Competing in the fiercely contested Under-21 Duo category, the young martial artists fought with exceptional grit and tactical precision to claim a well-deserved bronze medal. Far from finished, the dynamic U21 duo will step back onto the mat tomorrow in the Duo Show event, aiming to upgrade their hardware and extend Pakistan’s medal rush.
The ongoing championship in Abu Dhabi—running from August 1 to 9—has drawn over 1,500 top-tier athletes from every corner of the globe. Yet, amidst the dense field of international titans, the green flag rose highest.
Reacting to the monumental triumph, Khalil Ahmed Khan, Chairman of the Pakistan Ju-Jitsu Federation (PJJF), hailed the athletes’ relentless preparation and sacrifice.
“This is more than just a victory on the mat; it is a triumphant declaration of Pakistan’s talent to the entire world,” Khan stated. “Abu Huraira, Muhammad Ammar, Yousaf, and Umar have given our nation a moment of pure pride and laid down a blueprint of excellence for the next generation of athletes.”
Echoing his sentiments, PJJF Secretary General Tariq Ali highlighted the broader trajectory of the sport within the country: “These historic milestones are the direct result of unyielding discipline, relentless grit, and a tactical evolution in our training setups. Pakistan is no longer just participating on the international Ju-Jitsu stage—we are dictating it.”
As the tournament progresses into its high-stakes stages, all eyes remain fixed on the Mubadala Arena. With momentum firmly on their side, Pakistan’s ju-jitsu contingent has transformed from ambitious underdogs into the team to beat.
