PFF leaders put differences aside, pledge collective push for football development
Lahore: Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) Vice President and Punjab Football Association President Mr. Naveed Aslam Khan Lodhi and PFF Vice President and Punjab FA Senior Vice President Mr. Hafiz Zaka Ullah called on PFF President Syed Mohsen Gilani at the Football House in Lahore on Friday.
Together, the three leaders reaffirmed their resolve to ensure the stability of the system and to take Pakistan football to greater heights. Their main purpose of the gathering was together for football.
The latest meeting effectively reinforced the message that the leadership remains focused on football rather than internal speculation. The three leaders reiterated their resolve to work together under Gilani’s leadership and accelerate efforts to strengthen the game at every level.
Their position is consistent with the PFF’s earlier public emphasis on unity and institutional stability. In May, PFF officials, including Zaka Ullah and Lodhi, publicly stated that stakeholders were united behind the objective of promoting and developing football under Gilani’s leadership.
Gilani’s tenure has also coincided with several developments highlighted by the federation, including progress in grassroots football, women’s football, futsal and international engagement. Pakistan’s men’s team also reached the final of the Diamond Jubilee Football Tournament in the Maldives, ending a 64-year wait for a final appearance in a stand-alone international tournament.
The PFF has additionally announced a nationwide plan to revive domestic football through district championships, stronger provincial and regional structures and youth-development initiatives.
Friday’s meeting therefore sent a clear message: the PFF leadership intends to maintain unity, strengthen the federation’s institutional framework and build on recent progress, with the shared objective of taking Pakistan football to greater heights.
