Lahore Qalandars and Guyana Ministry sign MoU to strengthen cricket development
Lahore Qalandars have entered into a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Guyana’s Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, marking an important step towards strengthening cricket development and creating new opportunities for players and coaches through international collaboration.
The MoU was signed by Lahore Qalandars’ Owner and Team Director, Mr. Sameen Rana; Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Hon. Charles Ramson, M.P.; and Minister within the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, Hon. Steven Jacobs, M.P.
The partnership brings together Lahore Qalandars’ internationally recognised player development expertise and Guyana’s strong cricketing culture to establish a framework for cooperation in high-performance cricket, player and coach development, technical exchange, talent identification and knowledge sharing.
Under the framework, the Guyana Cricket Board will serve as the Ministry’s principal technical partner, providing expertise and support in the development and implementation of cricket-related programmes and initiatives.
Through the collaboration, Lahore Qalandars will work alongside its partners in Guyana to explore opportunities for player and coach exchanges, high-performance training, coaching education, talent identification programmes, and the exchange of technical knowledge and international best practices.
The partnership will also explore the potential for joint cricket camps, coaching clinics, youth development programmes, women’s cricket initiatives, and other activities designed to strengthen cricket pathways and provide emerging talent with greater opportunities to develop.
A key objective of the collaboration is to create sustainable pathways that expose players and coaches to international standards, modern training methodologies, and high-performance environments.
As three-time Pakistan Super League champions, Lahore Qalandars have placed player development at the heart of their cricketing philosophy. Through their Player Development Programme and high-performance infrastructure, the franchise has consistently worked to identify, nurture, and provide opportunities to emerging cricketing talent.
The partnership with Guyana represents another step in Lahore Qalandars’ vision of taking its development model beyond Pakistan and building meaningful cricketing relationships internationally.
