Road To Glory: KPK Himalayas vs Punjab Harappa in PFF U-17 Final
ISLAMABAD: KPK Himalayas and Punjab Harappa booked their places in the final of the PFF National U-17 Championship 2026 after contrasting semi-final victories at Jinnah Stadium, Islamabad, on Thursday.
KPK Himalayas defeated Sindh Indus 2-1 in the opening semi-final before Punjab Harappa produced the upset of the tournament, defeating Balochistan Hingol 2-0 to reach the championship final.
KPK Himalayas dominated the opening half against Sindh Indus and took control of the contest early.
The breakthrough came through a well-taken header, before KPK Himalayas doubled their advantage when a player reacted quickest to a second ball following a long free-kick into the penalty area, beating the defenders to the ball and finding the net.
Sindh Indus responded strongly after the break, taking greater control of the game and creating two excellent opportunities to draw level. However, they were unable to convert either chance.
Sindh Indus eventually pulled one back in the 80th minute when Ahmed Ali capitalised on a goalkeeping error to reduce the deficit to 2-1.
The late goal set up a tense finish, but KPK Himalayas held firm through the closing stages to secure their place in the final.
In the second semi-final, Punjab Harappa produced a major upset, defeating previously unbeaten Balochistan Hingol 2-0.
Balochistan Hingol, who had been among the standout sides of the championship throughout the group stage, were unable to reproduce their earlier form on the decisive occasion, while Punjab Harappa were clinical with their opportunities.
Harappa took the lead in the seventh minute after a cross from the left was met with a first-time flick into the top corner, giving the goalkeeper no chance.
They doubled their advantage before half-time when a Harappa player cut in from the right before placing the ball into the corner of the net.
Balochistan Hingol pushed for a way back into the contest after the interval, but Punjab Harappa defended their advantage to secure a 2-0 victory and their place in the final.
The result sets up a KPK Himalayas versus Punjab Harappa final on 10 October at 7pm at Jinnah Stadium, Islamabad, with the two sides now one victory away from being crowned champions of the PFF National U-17 Championship 2026.
