Over 60 Sindh officials trained ahead of 54th National Athletics Championship in Karachi

By Nawaz Gohar ; In a major push toward ensuring world-class standards and fair play, over 60 technical officials from across Sindh have successfully completed a comprehensive national technical course ahead of the upcoming Lok Sahaita 54th National Athletics Championship 2026.

Jointly organized by the Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP) and the Sindh Athletics Association (SAA), the specialized training program focused on gearing up qualified personnel to manage national-level track and field events with complete impartiality and professionalism.

Renowned athletics technical official Muhammad Nabeel served as the lead instructor, conducting in-depth lectures and practical sessions. The curriculum covered: World Athletics rules and updated technical regulations. Precise competition supervision and track management. Transparent result verification and unbiased decision-making.

Organizers emphasized that meticulous technical preparation is vital for the smooth execution of a tournament of this scale, ensuring every discipline strictly adheres to international standards.

The course concluded with a high-profile ceremony where Syed Peer Muhammad Shah, Chairperson of Lok Sahaita and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Traffic Police, served as Chief Guest. He praised the enthusiasm of the trainees and distributed course completion certificates among participants.

Also in attendance were Agha Haroon (Head of Sports, Lok Sahaita), Azhar Samdani (Secretary, Sindh Athletics Association), alongside key sports administrators and organizers.

The training forms an essential prelude to the Lok Sahaita 54th National Athletics Championship, scheduled to take place from October 22 to 25 at the NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi.

The mega event marks the return of the National Athletics Championship to the port city after a nine-year hiatus. A total of 14 premier departments and regional units—including Pakistan Army, WAPDA, and all four provinces—will clash for national glory.
