Farhan handed T20I leadership as Shaheen stays at helm for home white-ball series

By Nawaz Gohar ; The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled two separate contingents for the upcoming home white-ball calendar, featuring a three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka and a high-stakes ODI tri-series involving world powerhouses England and Sri Lanka.

Right-handed top-order batter Sahibzada Farhan—fresh off leading Pakistan at the Asian Games—has been appointed captain for the T20I leg. Meanwhile, premier left-arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi retains command of the 50-over side as Pakistan prepare to host England and Sri Lanka in a marquee seven-match ODI tri-series.

The action kicks off on October 9 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, host to all three T20 matches against Sri Lanka through October 13. The spotlight will then transition directly into the 50-over format as Rawalpindi stages the opening three fixtures of the ODI tri-series starting October 18.

The marquee tournament then moves to Lahore’s iconic Gaddafi Stadium for the high-intensity late league encounters and the grand final on October 31.
