Karachi ; The semi-final lineup of the Jahangir Khan PSA Series Challenger Squash Tournament has been completed.
Former world champion Jahangir Khan also watched the matches and encouraged the players. According to tournament director Naveed Alam, all four quarter-finalists were decided in the five-day event at the Jahangir Khan Sports Club with the support of Atif Wasi and Family.
Tayyab Aslam of Sui Northern Gas Company defeated Azan Ali of Pakistan Army by three games to one.
Pakistan Army’s Saddam ul Haq defeated Punjab’s Sakhi ullah by three games in an exciting contest. Saddam ul Haq fought back brilliantly despite failing in the first two games.
Saddam’s winning score in the match that lasted for sixty-five minutes was nine eleven. Five eleven, eleven six, fifteen thirteen and eleven five. Punjab’s Varun Asif outclassed Sindh’s wild card holder Hassan Paracha by three zero.
Muhammad Imad ( Pakistan Air force ) was declared the winner after Punjab’s Khaqan Malik retired injured during the match. The first semi-final will be played at 3 pm and the second at 4 pm. The final of the event with a prize money of $3,000 will be played on July 26.
