PFF mourns passing of former FIFA Referee Ahmed Jan
Lahore – The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) expresses its heartfelt condolences on the passing of Ahmed Jan, a former FIFA referee, football organizer and long-time caretaker of Karachi’s KMC Stadium. He passed away at the age of 73 after a prolonged illness.
Ahmed Jan was a beloved figure in Pakistan’s football community, known for his dedication to the sport. Over the decades, he played a vital role in officiating, organizing, and nurturing football at grassroots levels.
PFF President Syed Mohsen Gilani expressed his sorrow over the loss, stating, “Ahmed Jan was more than a referee, he was a pillar of our footballing community. His lifelong devotion to the game and his contributions to the development of football in Pakistan will never be forgotten. We extend our deepest sympathies to his family and loved ones.”
Acting General Secretary Muhammad Shahid Niaz Khokhar said, “Ahmed Jan’s legacy as a referee and organizer lives on in the many players, coaches, and fans he inspired. His impact on the sport in Pakistan is immeasurable, and he will be dearly missed.”
