Lahore Press Club plans Independence Day Sports Festival for members and families
LAHORE: The Lahore Press Club (LPC) Sports Committee has decided to organise sports competitions to celebrate Pakistan’s Independence Day in a vibrant and befitting manner, with the aim of promoting healthy sporting activities among club members and their families.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the Sports Committee chaired by Joint Secretary Imran Sheikh. Committee members Muhammad Babar, Hafiz Imran, Azhar Masood, Taqweem Millat and Rafiq Khan attended the meeting in person, while Abdul Rauf Khan, Iqbal Harper and Imran Sohail participated online due to engagements outside the city.
The committee reviewed a number of proposals regarding the organisation of various sporting events for Lahore Press Club members as part of the Independence Day celebrations.
Participants reaffirmed their commitment to providing maximum sporting opportunities for club members and their children, encouraging greater participation in recreational and competitive activities.
The committee also decided to engage Punjab Minister for Sports Faisal Khokhar, along with various sports associations and organisations, to ensure the successful organisation of the events through coordinated efforts and institutional support.
Members expressed confidence that the Independence Day sports festival would strengthen camaraderie among journalists, encourage family participation and promote a healthy sporting culture within the Lahore Press Club community.
