Mohsin Nawaz vows to bring mental-strength revolution in Pakistan’s sports
Islamabad: Pakistan’s decorated F-Class long-range shooter and sports psychologist, Mohsin Nawaz, has pledged to dedicate his expertise to transforming the mental preparedness of the country’s athletes,
emphasising that correct mental orientation must become a core pillar of Pakistan’s pursuit of international sporting success.
Having served as Pakistan’s first official Sports Psychologist at the 6th World Nomad Games 2026, the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz and Lifetime Achievement Award recipient is advocating for a nationwide shift toward psychological resilience, emotional regulation, and performance optimisation alongside physical training.
Mohsin believes Pakistani sportspersons require structured mental preparation to translate their raw potential into podium finishes on major international stages.
His framework centers on pressure management, stress and anxiety reduction, goal setting, visualisation, and simulated-pressure training that allows athletes to experience competition-like environments during practice to build composure, focus, and confidence when facing unfamiliar environments.
“Rather than attempting to eliminate competitive pressure, our goal must be to equip athletes with practical tools to manage it and remain focused on execution,” Mohsin noted, drawing from his background in F-Class long-range shooting where concentration and emotional control are paramount.
His standing in elite sports is further backed by prominent international roles, serving as an official Brand Ambassador for global industry leaders Kahles Optics and Peregrine Bullets, alongside his key association with the HawkSmith Gun & Sporting Club.
Aligning with this vision, Mohsin highlighted an initiative of national strategic importance being developed with HawkSmith, designed to introduce premium shooting and sports facilities in Pakistan.
The project aims to foster a planned, professional sports lifestyle among the country’s youth, providing modern infrastructure and athletic development pathways for the next generation.
Urging sports federations and coaches across the nation to integrate psychological assessments, athlete profiling, and team cohesion programs well ahead of international assignments, Mohsin emphasised that mental readiness must become a continuous component of athlete development.
Through systematic mental conditioning, he aims to empower Pakistani athletes to enter international arenas with unshakeable composure, resilience, and a result-oriented mindset.
