Pakistan and Zimbabwe will play their first ODI match today, November 24, in Bulawayo, followed by the second ODI on November 26 and the final match on November 28.

The T20 match will be played on December 1, the second 3 and the last T20 match will be played on December 5. All the matches of the series will be played in Bulawayo. 62 matches have been played between the two countries in one-day international cricket.

Out of these, Pakistan was successful in 54, while Zimbabwe was able to win only 5 matches. One match was tied, while two ended in a draw. Both played 18 matches against each other in T20 international cricket.

Pakistan won 16 while Zimbabwe could only win 2 matches. 19 Tests have been played between the two countries, in which Pakistan won 12 matches while Zimbabwe could only win 3 matches, while 4 Test matches ended without a winner or loser.

Pakistan’s success rate in Test matches against Zimbabwe is 80%, 91.66% in One-Day Internationals, and 88.88% in T20 Internationals, while Zimbabwe’s success rate against Pakistan is 20% in Test cricket, 8.33% in One-Day Internationals, and 11.11% in T20 Internationals.

These figures show that Pakistan has an advantage over Zimbabwe in all types of cricket matches. Pakistan has been playing one-day international cricket since 1973 and has played 973 matches so far.

Pakistan is in third place among the countries that play the most one-day internationals. India and Australia have played more than 1,000 matches.

India has played 1058 and Australia 1008 One Day Internationals. Out of 973 matches, Pakistan has won 514 and lost 430, while 8 matches were tied and 21 were inconclusive.

The win ratio is 54.46%. On the other hand, Zimbabwe has played 572 one-day internationals, out of which they have won only 152 while failing in 398. 7 matches were tied and 15 were inconclusive.

The success rate was only 8.33%. In the 62 ODIs played between the two countries so far, Zimbabwe’s highest innings score against Pakistan is 334 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs, which they scored on May 26, 2015 in Lahore,

while Pakistan’s highest innings score against Zimbabwe was on July 20, 2018 in Bulawayo, when they scored 399 runs for the loss of just one wicket in 50 overs.

The record for the lowest total is 136 for 11 in 35 overs, which was set on 18 July 2018 in Bulawayo. Pakistan’s biggest win by runs against Zimbabwe is by 244 runs, which they achieved in Bulawayo on 20 July 2018, while their highest wicket-taker win is by 10 wickets, which they achieved in Harare on 11 September 2011.

Zimbabwe’s biggest win in an ODI against Pakistan in terms of runs was by 74 runs in Harare on 26 February 1995, while their biggest win by wickets was by 7 wickets, which they achieved in Harare on 27 August 2013.

The two countries’ lowest ever ODI victories against each other have been by just 5 runs. Zimbabwe achieved this victory in Harare on 3 October 2015, and Pakistan achieved this victory in Bulawayo on 8 September 2011.

The smallest victory in terms of wickets was achieved by Zimbabwe by 6 wickets in Sheikhupura on 22 November, while Pakistan’s smallest victory was achieved by 3 wickets, which they achieved twice.

The first time was on 30 October 1996 in Quetta, and the second time was on 3 October 2004 in Peshawar. The batsman who scored the most runs against Pakistan in ODIs for Zimbabwe is Andy Flower.

He scored 906 runs in 30 matches at an average of 34.84. This record was set by Mohammad Yousuf for Pakistan, who scored 1033 runs in 24 matches against Zimbabwe at an average of 73.78. On July 20, 2018, Fakhar Zaman played an unbeaten innings of 210 runs against Zimbabwe in an ODI match for Pakistan in Bulawayo.

The highest individual innings against Pakistan in the ODI format for Zimbabwe was played by Sean Williams. He scored 118 not out in Rawalpindi on November 3, 2020. Zimbabwe has scored six individual centuries in ODI matches against Pakistan.

Sean Williams, Elton Chigumbra, Brendan Taylor, Grant Flower, Neil Johnson, and Sikandar Raza scored one century each. 15 players scored 26 centuries for Pakistan. Mohammad Yousuf and Imam-ul-Haq scored three each, while Ijaz Ahmed, Saeed Anwar, Saleem Elahi, Imran Nazir, Mohammad Hafeez, Fakhar Zaman, and Babar Azam scored two centuries each.

The highest run scorer for Zimbabwe in the ODI series against Pakistan is Andy Flower. He scored 212 runs in 5 matches at an average of 42.40 and 3 half-centuries in the 2002-03 home series, while Fakhar Zaman scored 515 runs in 5 matches at an average of 257.50 in the 2018 series played in Zimbabwe.

These included two centuries and two half centuries. Fast-medium bowler Heath Streak holds the record for most wickets for Zimbabwe in one-day international cricket against Pakistan.

He took 35 wickets in 20 matches. This record for Pakistan against Zimbabwe is held by leg-spinner Shahid Afridi, who took 34 wickets in 31 matches.

Fast-medium bowler Blessing Mazrabani was the best bowler for Zimbabwe in the innings against Pakistan. He took 5 wickets for 49 runs in Rawalpindi on November 3, 2020, while the best bowling in an innings for Pakistan against Zimbabwe was taken by leg-spinner Yasir Shah, who took 6 wickets for 26 runs in Harare on October 1, 2015.

For Pakistan, fast bowler Wahab Riaz has taken 4 or more wickets in ODIs against Zimbabwe 3 times, while no Zimbabwean bowler has been able to achieve this feat more than once against Pakistan. Four bowlers—Urton Mutumbanadzo, Brian Strang, Tawanda Mpareva, and Blessing Mazrabani—have taken four or more wickets in an innings once each.

All-rounder off-spinner Shoaib Malik has taken the most wickets for Pakistan in the ODI series against Zimbabwe. He took 11 wickets in 5 matches of the 2007-2008 home series at an average of 19.36. This record is 7 wickets for Zimbabwe against Pakistan, which is shared by three bowlers, Heath Streak, Brian Strong, and Blessing Mazraa.

The most wickets taken by Zimbabwe against Pakistan in the ODI format were taken by Andy Flower. He took 22 wickets in 30 matches, including 17 catches and 5 stamps.

This record was set by Rashid Latif against Zimbabwe for Pakistan. He took 26 wickets in 13 matches, including 22 catches and 4 stumpings.

The most wickets taken by Zimbabwe against Pakistan in an ODI match were taken by Tatanda Taibo. He took 4 wickets, including 3 catches and 1 stumping, on 30 September 2004 in Multan.

Two wicketkeepers, Moin Khan and Umar Akmal, share this record against Zimbabwe for Pakistan. Moin Khan took 5 catches behind the wickets on February 26, 1995 in Harare, and Umar Akmal took 5 catches behind the wickets on March 1, 2015 in Brisbane, all of which were catches.

The fielder who took the most catches in the ODI format for Pakistan against Zimbabwe is Younis Khan, who took 15 catches in 20 matches, while the fielder who took the most catches against Pakistan for Zimbabwe is Sean Williams.

He took 11 catches in 19 matches. Younis Khan also set this record for Pakistan. He took 5 catches in 3 matches in the 2002-2003 ODI series in Zimbabwe, while Guy Whittle took 4 catches in all three matches of the 1994-1995 home series for Zimbabwe.

The players who have represented Zimbabwe in the most ODIs against Pakistan are the Flower brothers. Both brothers Andy and Grant have played 30 matches each.

Shahid Afridi has played the most matches against Zimbabwe for Pakistan, with 31. The player who has captained Zimbabwe in the most ODIs against Pakistan is Alexander Campbell. He was the captain in 16 matches.

Under his leadership, Zimbabwe could defeat Pakistan in only one match and failed in 15 matches. Campbell’s success rate was only 6.25%. On the other hand, the player who has led Pakistan in the most ODIs against Zimbabwe is Wasim Akram.

He captained 11 matches and won all of them. His success rate was 100%. So far, 11 players have led Zimbabwe and 15 players have led Pakistan in one-day international cricket between the two countries. However,

in the current series, both the teams have new captains. Craig Irvine will be the 12th captain of Zimbabwe’s One Day International team against Pakistan, while Mohammad Rizwan will be the 16th captain to lead Pakistan’s One Day International team against Zimbabwe.
