PCB announces transfer regulations and salary cap adjustments for PSL 11

By Nawaz Gohar ;  The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced the opening of the player transfer window for the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11. The window is active immediately and will conclude on Wednesday, March 18, providing franchises a critical week to fine-tune their rosters ahead of the highly anticipated season.

During this period, teams are authorized to negotiate and execute player movements in strict accordance with tournament regulations and established salary cap constraints. To facilitate strategic team building, the PCB has outlined three primary modes of transfer:

Player Swaps: Franchises may engage in direct “Player for Player” exchanges.

Cash Acquisitions: A “Player for Money” transfer allows a franchise to acquire talent by utilizing their remaining salary purse.

Hybrid Trades: Teams may opt for “Player for Player and Money” deals, where an exchange of talent is supplemented by a financial adjustment.

All transactions remain subject to final approval by the PCB to ensure total compliance with HBL PSL 11 regulations.

In a notable development, the league has approved a special provision for Multan Sultans due to the unique circumstances surrounding the franchise’s recent acquisition. With the consensus of the other participating teams, the Sultans have been granted an incremental PKR 1.2 crore increase in their salary cap.

Furthermore, they have received permission for two additional signings, expanding their maximum squad capacity to 22 players, though they will adhere to the standard 20-player limit for matchday selections.

The 11th edition of the HBL PSL, featuring an expanded eight-team format, is scheduled to take place across six premier venues from March 26 to May 3, 2026.
