Peshawar Zalmi’s Babar and Mendis smash record for highest partnership in PSL history
By Nawaz Gohar ; In a record-breaking display of batting prowess, Peshawar Zalmi’s Babar Azam and Kusal Mendis have etched their names in the history books by recording the highest-ever partnership in HBL PSL history.
During the 17th match of PSL 11 on Thursday, Peshawar Zalmi posted a mammoth total of 246/3 against Karachi Kings, largely thanks to a masterclass from the duo. Kusal Mendis played a blistering knock of 109 runs, while captain Babar Azam remained unbeaten with a stellar 87 off 51 balls.
The pair combined for a monumental 191-run stand for the second wicket, surpassing the previous record of 176 runs set by Babar Azam and Sharjeel Khan in 2021. Their dominant performance helped Zalmi set a mountain of 246 runs for the opposition in their allotted 20 overs.
