PHF overhauls coaching structure; Manzoor-ul-Hassan appointed senior team head coach
By Nawaz Gohar ; The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has officially announced new coaching and management panels for the National Senior, Junior, and Under-18 (Youth) teams.
The decision was formalized following the approval of PHF President Mir Mohiuddin Ahmed Wani, acting on the strategic recommendations provided by the Professional Development Committee.
Senior National Team: Olympian Manzoor-ul-Hassan has been entrusted with the responsibility of Head Coach for the Senior National Team. To support him, the PHF has assembled a high-profile coaching panel comprising:
Olympian Khawaja Muhammad Junaid (Coach) Olympian Waseem Ahmed (Coach)
International Adnan Zakir (Coach) Olympian Shakeel Abbasi (Coach)
International Mazhar Abbas (Goalkeeping Coach)
Junior National Team: For the Pakistan Junior Team, Olympian Ayaz Mahmood has been appointed as the Head Coach. His technical team includes:
Olympian Sameer Hussain (Coach) International Azfar Yaqoob (Coach) International Imran Butt (Coach)
Youth (Under-18) Team: Olympian Qamar Ibrahim has been named the Head Coach for the Pakistan Youth (U-18) squad.
He will be assisted by a panel of seasoned players and coaches, including:
Olympian Rehan Butt (Coach) Olympian Umar Bhutta (Coach) International Yasir Islam (Coach)
This comprehensive restructuring of the coaching management is seen as a strategic move by the PHF to streamline player development across all age groups and restore Pakistan’s stature in international hockey.
