SJAL re-elects Aqeel, Yousaf, Afzal in unopposed elections
Lahore: The Sports Journalists Association (SJAL) held its Annual General Council meeting, reaffirming continuity in leadership as President Aqeel Ahmed, Secretary General Yousaf Anjum and Treasurer Afzal Iftikhar were unanimously re-elected for another two-year term.
The meeting, chaired by Aqeel Ahmed, brought together a large number of senior and active members of the association. Before the fresh elections, Secretary SJAL Yousaf Anjum presented a comprehensive report detailing the association’s activities and performance over the past two years.
Sarfaraz Ahmed, Farrukh Atta Butt, and Rafiq Khan performed the duties of the Election Commission. Aqeel Ahmed was unanimously re-elected as President for the next two years term. Yousaf Anjum was elected as Secretary, and Afzal Iftikhar as Treasurer. All office-bearers were elected unopposed.
Senior members including Shahid Sheikh, Zahid Maqsood, Sohail Ali, and Muhammad Yaqoob were also present on the occasion. Other attendees included Sohail Imran, Chaudhry Ashraf, Sheikh Ijaz, Ihtesham-ul-Haq, and Zulqarnain Sheikh. The meeting was also attended by Shehzad Malik, Rana Azar, Mian Asghar, Azhar Masood, Hafiz Shahbaz, Qadir Khawaja, Taqweem Millat Shah, and others SJAL members.
At the outset, members offered Fateha (prayers) for the departed relatives of association members, including the father-in-law of former President Aamir Raza and the father of member Akhlaq Aslam, along with others who had passed away.
