FG Din/Sheikhoo, DP/Platinum Homes secure impressive wins in JPF Times Polo Cup

LAHORE: FG Din/Sheikhoo and Diamond Paints/Platinum Homes showcased brilliant teamwork to register contrasting victories in their respective matches of the JPF Times Polo Cup 2026 at the Jinnah Polo Fields on Wednesday.

In the first match of the day, FG Din/Sheikhoo delivered a commanding performance, overwhelming Polo Ukhano with a resounding 11 to 5.5 victory (factoring in a 1.5 goal advantage given on handicap to Polo Ukhano).

Right from the opening chukker, the match set a blistering pace. FG Din/Sheikhoo's attacking lineup clicked immediately with brilliant field goals from SM Raffay, Abbas Mukhtar, and Hamza Mawaz Khan, though Polo Ukhano retaliated fiercely as Bilal Noon struck twice with sharp field goals.

Hamza Mawaz Khan dominated the subsequent chukkers with precise penalty conversions (including 30-yard and 40-yard goals) and fluent field goals. Abbas Mukhtar and SM Raffay also continued to capitalise on scoring opportunities.

Despite valiant efforts and goals from Bilal Noon and Mumtaz Abbas for Polo Ukhano, including a brilliant 60-yard penalty strike by Bilal Noon in the final chukker, FG Din/Sheikhoo comfortably sealed an 11–5.5 victory.

The second match of the day provided an absolute nail-biter as Diamond Paints/Platinum Homes narrowly outplayed Master Paints 8–6 in a tightly contested battle. Diamond Paints started brightly in the opening chukker with fine field goals from Mir Huzaifa Ahmad and Umer Ashfaq. Saqib Khakwani orchestrated the middle chukkers with brilliant 60-yard and 30-yard penalty conversions.

However, Master Paints fought back spectacularly, spearheaded by Mekayial Sami, who put on a clinic with remarkable field goals and precise 60-yard, 30-yard, and 40-yard penalty conversions, alongside support from Ch Faateh.

In the decisive fourth chukker, Ibrahim Khalil, Mir Huzaifa Ahmad, and Saqib Khakwani combined effectively to anchor Diamond Paints, sealing a hard-fought 8–6 victory. The match was officiated by umpires Andrew Thomas and Abdullah Ijaz.
