Lahore Qalandars announce PDP trials in Khushab to hunt future stars
Nawaz Gohar ; Lahore Qalandars have announced the expansion of their Player Development Program (PDP) to Khushab, at the request of Mansoor Usman Awan, Attorney General of Pakistan, following persistent requests from local youth seeking opportunities to pursue their cricketing ambitions.
The trials will be held on Saturday, 21 November 2026, at 9:00 AM at Jauharabad Sports Complex, Khushab, where aspiring cricketers from the region will get the chance to demonstrate their abilities before the Lahore Qalandars' talent identification team.
The initiative reflects Lahore Qalandars' commitment to ensuring that no region with cricketing potential remains unexplored and that geographical limitations do not prevent talented youngsters from pursuing their dreams.
Khushab has a growing passion for cricket, with many young players eager to make their mark in the sport. Through these trials, Lahore Qalandars seek to bring local talent into the spotlight and create opportunities for players who may otherwise lack access to professional cricketing platforms.
Through its Player Development Program, Lahore Qalandars have consistently worked to identify and nurture talent beyond traditional cricketing centres, reaching communities where access to professional training and exposure is often limited.
By taking the PDP to regions such as Khushab, the franchise continues to uphold its founding philosophy of bridging the gap between talent and opportunity, ensuring that every deserving youngster gets a fair chance to progress, regardless of their background, location or access to resources.
With the support of Mansoor Usman Awan, Attorney General of Pakistan, and the enthusiasm of the people of Khushab, this initiative marks another significant step towards discovering emerging cricketing talent and creating meaningful pathways for the next generation of cricketers.
On this occasion, Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan said that this event will go a long way in encouraging the aspiring young cricketers of Khushab in realising their potential and will pave the way for future opportunities for the youth of Khushab.
He added that he was truly grateful to Lahore Qalandars for organising this event, which is the first of its kind and level in District Khushab in the recent history.
