PU wins HEC Baseball Championship
ISLAMABAD — Punjab University (PU) has clinched the top position in the All Pakistan HEC Baseball Women Championship 2025-26 title after a dominant 24-09 victory against Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) in the final match held at the Pakistan Sports Board ground.
1st : Punjab University (PU) 2nd: Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) 3rd: University of Sargodha
4th: University of Lahore (UoL)
A total of 12 university teams from across Pakistan competed in the championship. The sports event was organized by Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU), Rawalpindi.
Top sports officials attended the closing ceremony, including HEC DG Sports Rizwan Shaukat, AD Muhammad Asif, FJWU Director Sports Dr. Khurram Shahzad, Dr. Asghar Javed, Dr. Tasawar Asghar, and PU Director Sports Dr. Shabbir Sarwar.
Punjab University Vice Chancellor Dr. Muhammad Ali extended his warmest congratulations to the winning team and the Directorate of Sports for this remarkable achievement.
He specifically lauded the efforts of Director Sports Dr. Shabbir Sarwar, Game Manager Tahira Saleem, Assistant Manager Mr Ilyas Moeen Bhatti, game supervisor Mr Wasif Ali, and Team Coach Ali Raza.
Baseball was the last championship of the HEC intervarsity sports events.
