Sahibzada Farhan becomes leading run-scorer of T20 World Cup 2026

By Nawaz Gohar ;  Pakistan’s opening batsman, Sahibzada Farhan, has etched his name into the record books by becoming the leading run-scorer of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. This milestone follows a magnificent unbeaten century in a high-stakes encounter against Namibia.

During the crucial match played in Colombo, Pakistan set a formidable target of 200 runs, largely due to Farhan’s explosive batting. He reached his hundred off just 58 deliveries, finishing with an unbeaten 100 * that included 11 boundaries and 4 towering sixes.

With this innings, Farhan has officially surpassed all other competitors to become the most prolific batsman of the tournament. Over the course of four innings in this World Cup, he has amassed a total of 219 runs, the highest by any player so far in the 2026 edition.

Farhan has now become only the sixth Pakistani cricketer in history to score a century in a T20 World Cup. His performance also marks the third century of this year’s tournament, joining an elite list that includes Sri Lanka’s Pathum Nissanka and Canada’s Pargat Singh (referred to in local reports as “Samra”), who previously reached the triple-digit mark in the current competition.

Farhan’s form is seen as a massive boost for the Green Shirts as they transition into the Super 8 stage, providing the top-order stability and aggression the team has lacked in previous fixtures.
