Abbottabad U19 and Peshawar Blues U19 both put on commanding displays to cap off convincing victories on Wednesday.
Group A: Abbottabad Crush AJK; Saim Lights Up Faisalabad
At the Saeed Ajmal Cricket Academy in Faisalabad, Abbottabad U19 delivered a masterclass against AJK U19, sealing an emphatic 239-run victory.
Resuming their second innings at 52-4, Abbottabad rallied to post 249, propelled by gritty half-centuries from Sajjad Khan (60), Tariq Mehmood (55), and Shah Fahad (53). Set a daunting 350-run target, AJK crumbled for just 110 in 37.1 overs. Star of the match Zeeshan Ahmad backed up his first-innings 3-17 with a devastating spell of 6-22, finishing with match figures of 9 wickets, while Sohail Khan chipped in with three wickets in each innings.
In the group’s second fixture at the same venue, Faisalabad U19 piled on 288-5 against Rawalpindi U19, driven by Muhammad Saim’s brilliant 102 and Hamza Liaqat’s solid 67. In response, Rawalpindi were left reeling at 116-6 by stumps, with Muhammad Hussnain Jayed doing the damage with 4-30.
Group B: Faisal’s Ton Sets Up Peshawar Whites; Lahore Blues Solid
Over at Charsadda, Faisal Aziz stole the show with a fluent 115 to carry Peshawar Whites U19 to 316-7 against Islamabad U19. Islamabad ended their second turn at the crease on 147-8, with Muhammad Sudais returning impressive figures of 5-56.
In another Group B clash, Lahore Blues U19 posted 261-8 against Bahawalpur U19, who negotiated a steady start to reach 69-0 by the close of play.
Group C: Baseer’s Classy Hundred Puts FATA in Command
Muhammad Baseer converted his overnight 74 not out into a sublime 105, teaming up with Maaz Wazir (91) to propel FATA U19 to a competitive 314-8 declared against Multan U19. Multan showed resilience in their reply, reaching 249-6 at the draw of stumps.
Group D: Awais Anchors Peshawar Blues; Amanullah and Ishratulebad Shine
Peshawar Blues U19 secured a clinical six-wicket triumph over Karachi Blues U19. After Peshawar were bundled out for 123, their bowling unit unleashed absolute mayhem, skittling Karachi for a mere 59. Awais Khan led the demolition with 5-25 (building on his 3-39 in the first innings), while Muhammad Younas provided sharp support with 3-6.
DM Jamali vs. Larkana: Amanullah put on a clinic with 6-22 to bowl out Larkana U19 for 161.
Hyderabad vs. DM Jamali: Ishratulebad starred with 5-40 as Hyderabad U19 were dismissed for 140, before DM Jamali finished the day at 6-1.
